Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Data Center Facilities Engineer located in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. The Data Center Facilities Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and managing data center infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, providing technical support, and handling other maintenance tasks as necessary. This role will involve monitoring data center performance, ensuring optimal operations, carrying out routine maintenance activities, and implementing necessary upgrades and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and obtain clarifications of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Method of Procedures (MOPs) to ensure high-confidence maintenance work.
- Support the overall team on facilities infrastructure maintenance work.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to critical components.
- Perform site inspections and monitor the building and alarms.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, installations, and on-site inspections to critical systems.
- Support energy efficiency efforts and contribute to the development of plans.
- Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves moderately difficult alarm issues that require judgement in resolving while following SOPs.
- Operate and maintains plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems as needed.
- Operates critical infrastructures under the supervision of more senior technical staff.
- Respond to incidents and follow troubleshooting SOPs, while providing updates to the broader operations team.
- Help develop and execute site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts.
- Identify Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and makes recommendations
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems.
- Make changes to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems, as directed.
- Help execute infrastructure project deliverables.
- Collaborate with others to resolve facility incidents, including root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and developing full reports.
- Provide stakeholders of inventory needs in order to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years experience working hands on in large (5MW+) Data Center environments
- Working experience with critical infrastructure systems including UPS, Generators, Flywheels, BMS, Fluid Chillers, and Life Safety Systems.
- Coursework in HVAC design, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
- Knowledge of HVAC testing and balancing methodologies.
- Experience with data center design and build-out projects is a plus
- Demonstrable skills in Troubleshooting and providing Technical Support
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
